Introducing Women in Events: Sponsored by MC² x CEMA

Across the events industry, women are playing a key role in shaping what comes next. Women in Events (WIE) is a collaborative initiative developed in partnership with MC² and CEMA, created to explore and support the evolving role of women across the events industry. Rooted in real conversations and industry insight, WIE aims to bring forward perspectives that matter and encourage meaningful progress.

The initiative was officially introduced during the Regional Exchange Dinner in New York City recently, where industry leaders came together for an evening of connection, dialogue, and shared perspective. The event marked the launch of a broader effort to strengthen community and highlight the contributions of women across the events ecosystem.

At its core, Women in Events is built around four key pillars: leadership and representation, career development and skills, equity and inclusion, and community visibility. Together, these focus areas address both the opportunities and challenges women face today, from advancing into leadership roles to navigating career progression and workplace dynamics.

Through research and curated discussions, WIE brings forward insights from professionals across agencies, brands, and organizations. These perspectives are shared as industry statistics and conversation starters, helping drive more informed, practical dialogue around the realities women face in the events industry.

What sets Women in Events apart is its breadth of perspective and commitment to visibility. By connecting professionals across career stages, the initiative creates space for shared experiences while contributing to a more informed and inclusive industry. As the program grows, WIE will continue to expand its network of professionals, partners, and advocates working to shape the future of the events industry.
