Role Description
The Safety & OSHA Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing all safety, health, and environmental programs to ensure compliance with OSHA standards and company policies across fabrication shops, warehouses, and on-site event installations. This role serves as the company’s primary safety authority, fostering a proactive safety culture within a fast-paced, creative environment that supports large-scale trade shows, exhibitions, and experiential marketing activations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Safety Program Management
- Design, implement, and maintain a comprehensive safety and health program tailored to the event production and trade show industry.
- Conduct regular safety audits, risk assessments, and job hazard analyses for shop, warehouse, and on-site operations.
- Develop and enforce safety policies and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for rigging, electrical, fabrication, transport, and installation.
- Lead investigations into incidents, near misses, and safety violations; prepare reports and implement corrective actions. Analyze and evaluate potential hazards in the workplace and develop strategies to eliminate or reduce those risks.
- Ensuring that all employees work in a safe environment to minimize the risk of accidents and injuries.
- Maintain accurate and current safety records and report on safety metrics and performance to management.
- Stay up-to-date with emerging safety trends and technologies to proactively address potential risks.
- Ensures that all equipment and machinery meet safety standards and are in good working condition. They work closely with employees to foster an environment that recognizes the importance of safety in their daily practices.

Training & Education
- Develop and deliver OSHA-compliant training programs (e.g., hazard communication, PPE, lockout/tagout, fall protection, forklift, and emergency response).
- Ensure all employees, contractors, and on-site personnel receive proper safety orientation and certifications.
- Maintain detailed records of training and compliance documentation.
Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local OSHA, EPA, and fire code regulations.
- Prepare and maintain compliance documentation including SDS management, OSHA 300 logs, and inspection records.
- Serve as the point of contact for all regulatory inspections and inquiries.
Event and Site Safety Oversight
- Conduct pre-event safety planning and risk assessments for live event builds and trade show installations.
- Coordinate with clients, general contractors, and venue safety officials to align on-site safety practices.
- Supervise on-site safety operations during large-scale activations to ensure compliance and rapid incident response.
Continuous Improvement & Leadership
- Promote a culture of safety awareness and accountability across all departments.
- Partner with Production, Logistics, and HR teams to integrate safety into daily operations and performance evaluations.
- Track safety metrics, identify trends, and lead initiatives to reduce incidents and improve performance.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Health, or related field preferred.
- 5+ years of experience managing safety programs in environments such as trade shows, live events, construction, or experiential marketing.
- In-depth knowledge of OSHA standards (29 CFR 1910 & 1926) and best practices for event production and fabrication.
- Proven experience conducting audits, investigations, and compliance reporting.
- Excellent communication, training, and interpersonal skills.
- Willingness to travel to event sites as needed (up to 30–50%).
- Certifications preferred: OSHA 30-Hour, CSP, CHST, or equivalent.
