role Description:
MC2 is seeking a dedicated, skilled Part-Time Seasonal Event Display Technician to join our team. This role will start in February and likely end in October/November. The ideal candidate will possess a combination of technical expertise, logistical proficiency, and a keen eye for detail to ensure flawless execution of event displays. As an Event Display Technician, you will be responsible for the safe transportation, assembly, and installation of truss structures and signage, as well as managing temporary staff and maintaining effective communication with clients.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential Functions:
- Safely operate a box truck to transport event assets to and from venues.
- Ensure the secure loading, unloading, and proper stowing of truss and other assets in the box truck.
- Assemble truss and sign framing on-site and install Velcro fabric and SEG fabric as per design specifications.
- Safely secure ‘Arch' structures to ballasts to ensure stability and safety during events.
- Lift and lower objects weighing up to 100lbs as needed during setup and dismantling.
- Have a discerning eye for creating clean, presentable displays that meet client expectations and enhance the overall event experience.
- Effectively manage temporary staff, providing clear direction and oversight to ensure safe assembly, disassembly, and handling of assets.
- Communicate directly with clients to confirm asset locations, accommodate changes, and coordinate activation times to meet event schedules.
- Work flexible hours on event days, typically from 8am to 1am, with potential for extended hours based on event requirements and dismantling needs. *SHIFTS WILL BE SPLIT*
Skills & Qualifications:
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record and ability to gain a medical card.
- Experience driving and operating box trucks or similar commercial vehicles.
- Proficiency in safely loading, unloading, and securing cargo.
- Technical skills for assembling truss structures and installing fabric signage.
- Ability to lift and maneuver heavy objects up to 100lbs.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with clients and managing temporary staff.
- Flexibility to work extended hours during events and adapt to changing schedules.
Requirements: Ability to work a flexible, demanding, and extended hours/ weekend schedule when needed
